V obyčejné části města sídlí ve všech ohledech průměrné a ničím výjimečné gymnázium. Navštěvují ho studenti, kteří budou pokračovat ve studiu, ale i takoví, kteří na to nemají a nakonec budou muset přestoupit na průmyslovku nebo na učňák. Chodí sem děti bohatších rodičů z okolí, protože to mají blízko, ale i studenti z horších čtvrtí a chudších poměrů. Někdy je to tu i docela drsné, když se potkají dvě horké hlavy… Většinu času je to ale v tom nejlepším smyslu slova úplně normální gympl. Až na jednoho profesora.
